"Let the Little Children Come to Me" (Luke 18:15-17)
Join us as we dive into the Gospel of Luke!
On one occasion, parents were bringing their babies and small children to Jesus to be blessed by him. However, the disciples decided that Jesus was too busy for such an activity, and they were preventing the parents from getting in front of Jesus. This resulted in a harsh rebuke of his disciples by our Lord. Jesus responded in three ways: 1) He called the little children to him, 2) He said, “let the little children come to me,” and finally 3) He emphasized not hindering them from coming. This story focuses on two significant truths. One is that Jesus loves and welcomes children into a relationship with him. The second truth is that in some way children are role models and examples for how one enters the kingdom of God. So, tune in and join us in celebrating children and learning how not to hinder them from meeting Jesus. Also, learn how following their example opens the gates to God’s kingdom for us!
