Free at last, free at last. Thank God almighty, we are free at last!

Martin Luther King Junior’s words were very apropos for the Israelites after the night of the Passover. Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, is given a knockout blow when he and all of Egypt lose their firstborn sons, and so Pharaoh changes his “no” to “go!” The Israelites, who are packed and ready, finally exit Egypt. Surprisingly, they did not leave alone. Rather, there were other ethnic groups who joined them. Who were these people? We believe some were Cushites (black Africans), some were Hyksos (Asian Africans), and very likely some were Egyptians. This passage tells us that if their men were willing to be circumcised, they were all welcomed into God’s family, and they would not be considered second class citizens. All these things were the result of the Passover. The message closes by reflecting on how special this Passover event was and is to God’s people. Tune in to this message and find out why!
