The 2nd Commandment

The 2^nd of the 10 Commandments tells us not to make images of God or other gods that one bows down to and worships.

This commandment, like the 1^st Commandment, is forbidding associations with ancient idolatry. The 1^st Commandment prohibits worshiping the wrong God, and the 2^nd Commandment prohibits worshiping God in the wrong way. The sermon will take us on a journey into the biblical world of pagan idolatry and its ancient worship practices. As we learn of their empty images of worship and superficial rituals of worship, we also learn how to avoid the same pitfalls in today’s world.
