The Church in Thyatira
Join us as we unpack Jesus’ letter to the church in Thyatira.
This is the church that we know the least about and would have been in the least distinguished of the seven cities. However, we do know that it must have been a large commercial center with numerous manufacturing trade guilds. These guilds put huge pressure upon the Christians to compromise their faith. Jesus gives the church of Thyatira a beautiful compliment for continuing to grow in their in their spiritual lives, but also provides a strong rebuke for tolerating a false teacher nicknamed Jezebel. This message will help us to learn how to look out for the “Jezebels” in our own lives who can entice us to compromise our beliefs and values and stunt our spiritual growth.
