The 10th Commandment: Do Not Covet
The 10th Commandment tells us not to covet what belongs to our neighbor.
This commandment is unique in that it prohibits improper inner attitudes and improper thoughts. In short, it focuses on matters of the heart. Jesus tells us that it is in the heart where sin gets its start, therefore, developing a healthy heart matters a lot to God. The message will help us to understand the seriousness of coveting, meet some of the close cousins of covetousness, and see some of the destructive results in the lives of bible characters who broke this command. Also, it will help us to get a heart check-up in this area to see if we need God’s prescribed antidote for coveting.
