As we find ourselves in the middle of this season of thankfulness, joy, and celebration, I want you to know from the bottom of my heart how thankful I am to have been a part of this church family for the past five and a half years.
Both Callie and I are unable to find the words to adequately describe how we feel about you and how thankful we are for you. In our time at Calvary and in this season of transition, you have loved us, supported us, prayed for us, and held up our arms when we didn’t feel like we could hold them up on our own. I find myself identifying with the words of the apostle Paul in Philippians 1:3-11, and these are my prayer for you:
“I give thanks to my God for every remembrance of you, always praying with joy for all of you in my every prayer, because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now. I am sure of this, that he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Indeed, it is right for me to think this way about all of you, because I have you in my heart, and you are all partners with me in grace…For God is my witness, how deeply I [will] miss all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus. And I pray this: that your love will keep on growing in knowledge and every kind of discernment, so that you may approve the things that are superior and may be pure and blameless in the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God.”
By way of update, I want you to know that we are well on our way to being fully support raised for this next year, which is a testament to God's generosity through you. One of the things that is most exciting about this next step for us is that we will still be very much connected to Calvary through your financial generosity and your prayers on our behalf. If you are interested in partnering with us individually, feel free to reach out to me, and we will set up a time to talk about that. But regardless of whether or not the Lord leads you to partner, know that we are so deeply grateful for you. I genuinely believe that Calvary's best days are ahead of her because "he who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
We love you, Calvary.
