November 2023
Calvary Family,
As I’m writing this article, we are experiencing our first real cold snap of the year. It is a stark reminder that fall is ending and winter is coming. If you are like me, I love the fall and am not so fond of winter. However, as Christ followers, we must embrace all the seasons of life that come our way, whether it’s the literal weather changes or the figurative winter storms. In the midst of it all, we can consider it pure joy because Christ is with us and working within us (James 1:2-4). It is a time to be thankful, joyful, and worshipful.
Because of our gracious God, we must give ourselves wholeheartedly to the celebration of Thanksgiving and Christmas. What a joyful season of worship it is. Together, let’s maximize Thanksgiving and Christmas in 2023.
So, get ready for fun parties, choir cantatas, great food, mission projects, candlelight singing, children’s theater, baptisms, short sermons (just seeing if you are paying attention), and many other meaningful worship experiences. ‘Tis the season!
