Easter is around the corner! What a great time of the year to invite family, friends, and neighbors to Calvary. Be sure and check out our website to see what is happening at Calvary this Easter. Also, you can find these details later in this newsletter.
So, what else is happening at Calvary in April 2022? One important process involves our Church Council taking the initial steps for developing our strategic plan. The plan will outline both short- and long-term goals that will help our church fulfill its vision and mission. Eventually, the plan will include aligning our financial resources with these goals.
The council has decided to focus on goals that will ensure that we are a spiritually healthy church. We are currently discussing things such as expanding the Calvary prayer ministry, maximizing our Sunday School impact, growing our Next Generation Ministries, developing an international missions partnership, and effectively equipping our church family to engage our culture in disciple making. Also, along the way, we will be assessing our needs for facility maintenance and upgrades and legacy giving.
Once the Council has completed the goal setting process, we will assign committees and task forces to develop specific strategies for achieving specific goals. Many thanks to the talented Calvary Church Council for their time, effort, and focus on this important process.
In the meantime, we have several ongoing projects. One is our Audio System Upgrade project. Our task force has successfully completed Phase I of the project which involved installing sound treatment on the walls in the Worship Center. These treatments will eliminate dead spots in our Worship Center and allow us to better hear the spoken word. Thankfully, this phase was fully funded by designated gifts.
The task force is currently working on the plan for Phase II which will involve upgrading amplification and sound equipment. When Phase II is completed, we will be able to move both worship services into our Worship Center. I’m excited that the Phase II plan will be unveiled soon. This unveiling will include an information meeting where the project will be explained in detail along with budget recommendations from the Finance Committee. The church family will have the opportunity to ask questions.
Thank you to all of the volunteers who have been so generous with their time and talent in helping us move our church towards accomplishing our vision and mission. I truly am excited about the possibilities that are ahead of us.
So happy April and happy Easter. This is the time of the year when we celebrate new life in Christ. It is about the old becoming new. It is about living on purpose for our king and his kingdom. May God bless Calvary in April 2022!
