February 2023
In a recent worship service, Garrett put together a video where Calvary members of all ages were answering the question: Why I Love Calvary. Their heartfelt answers were encouraging and inspiring. We truly have a great church that is full of love for God and love for people and love for each other.
This February, we will not only be celebrating who Calvary is today, but we also will be celebrating who Calvary will become tomorrow. With this vision in mind, many in our church have been prayerfully and thoughtfully working on Calvary’s next Strategic Plan – a ministry guide to help us accomplish the plans God has for us during the next five years. This is a vision that we believe God has placed on our hearts. So, what’s been the process?
· The plan started with the Church Council prayerfully discussing what we felt God was leading us to accomplish during the next 5 years. These dreams were then crafted into ministry directives.
· The 17 Ministry Directives were then given to church committees, task forces, or staff members to develop specific goals for each.
· After these goals were established, the teams developed specific strategies for how we could achieve each goal.
So, what are these goals about? They are about discipleship, missions, prayer, and family. In other words, they are about helping us to live out our core values as a church. How do we better make disciples who make disciples? How do we expand our missions impact? How do we truly become a praying church? How do we better serve and care for one another as an intergenerational family? How do we responsibly steward our finances and buildings and best use them for a Kingdom of God impact?
The end result is the development of Calvary’s next Strategic Plan designed to take us through 2027. In February of 2023, we will have numerous small group forums that you can attend to better understand the plan and to ask questions. On February 19th, we will be asking each Calvary member to make a threefold pledge to pray for the plan, to be personally engaged in the plan, and to financially support the plan. On March 5th we will officially launch the new plan.
With the Strategic Plan will come our next Capital Fund Raising Campaign called “Going BOLD.” This is a fitting name for followers of Christ who are boldly seeking to follow the Holy Spirit who in turn gives us the ability to boldly live for our King.
Celebrating the Past and the Future with You,
Scott
Therefore, since we have such a hope, we are very bold.
