August 2025
Well, summer has certainly come and will soon be gone, especially for our teachers and students.
At Calvary, we will be celebrating the end of summer with a special day of worship on August 17. We are calling the day Summer Fest and it will include a joint worship service at 9:00 AM followed by Bible Study at 10:30 AM followed by our Fish Fry at 11:30 AM. All of this will then be followed by water slides and an ice cream truck out on the Cantrell parking lot.
On that day, the worship service will focus on Calvary’s mission vision and will include a celebration of our summer mission ministries. The worship time will include a panel discussion with mission trip representatives from Calvary’s recent Vacation Bible School, Together for Hope Helena, New City Church Austin, and Zona Zegura in Peru. It has truly been an exciting and productive summer for missions at Calvary.
The day is also “Promotion Sunday” and will include the tradition of recognizing our first graders and giving them a new bible. It will also include a special celebration of our children and teachers with a “back to school” prayer over our children’s backpacks. In short, Summer Fest will be an end of the summer celebration as we look forward to the fall. Our regular midweek programming for children, students, and adults will resume in early September.
So, Calvary family, please save the date and plan to join us for Summer Fest 2025.
