July 2025
July is here and that means it is time for some important “hands-on” mission opportunities at Calvary!
Together for Hope
Calvary will continue its decade plus long tradition of serving with our regional mission partners in Helena, AR this month. The team will participate in a VBS style swim camp for the children of Helena along with numerous construction projects for churches, families, and community organizations. I’m always inspired by the wonderful people who participate in this mission project, both from our church and beyond. Helena is an economically deprived community, yet spiritually strong. Please be in prayer for our team who will be serving on July 13-17. Or, even better, please pray and personally join us for the fun!
Mission Austin
Calvary will continue its two year-long partnership with New City Church in Austin, TX starting on July 12. Please be in prayer for our team of seven. The team will assist the church with outreach, prayer walking, and homeless ministry among other things. They will leave on Saturday July 12 and return on July 17. Also, pray for the ministry leadership of New City Church Austin which includes Ryan and Callie Perkins.
Vacation Bible School
One of the greatest evangelistic events of the year will be taking place on Sunday evening July 20th through Thursday evening July 24th. This event is Vacation Bible School! Please pray that God will bless the children of Calvary with a great week of learning, growth, and fun. Also, pray that Calvary can successfully connect with unchurched families in our neighborhoods by inviting their children to attend. Finally, pray for our many volunteers who serve so faithfully as teachers and leaders. And oh yes, pray for Julie and Brandi that they will keep their sanity through it all. Also, there are still opportunities to volunteer and serve. Just let Julie know if you are available.
Thank you to all of the Calvary family for your heart for missions. I’m blessed to be the pastor of such a “missions minded” church!
