Christmas at Calvary | December 2025

Calvary Family,

It truly is hard to believe that December is already here. Where did the year go? As we move toward the conclusion of 2025, I am always excited for the holiday season with the numerous fellowship and worship activities that come with this time of year.

In regards to the holidays, let me first express my appreciation to those who helped make Gratitude Sunday a great success. In addition to our joint worship service, we had a great time of bible study and an amazing Thanksgiving meal together. Furthermore, we had another successful Operation Christmas Child packing party. This year Calvary packed a total of 254 shoeboxes and served as a drop off location for an additional 286 boxes. This event brings together our church’s love for children, missions, and the gospel. A special thanks to our leaders who put in countless hours to make this mission project a success. Additionally, thanks to the many who assisted in our Peru Christmas project. Our December mission team will be taking the final items with us as our mission partner, Zona Zegura, will be doing their own Christmas outreach in a neighboring village in the coming weeks.

As we look forward to celebrating the rest of the holidays, I am very excited about the Advent season. Garrett will preach the first two Advent sermons while I am in Peru. Furthermore, this year, our annual Christmas worship services will be on December 14. These worship services are very unique and special. In fact, they are so good that I would encourage each Calvary member to consider attending both worship services on that day (the Christmas Worship at the Bridge at 9 a.m. and the Choir Cantata in the Traditional service at 11:15 a.m.). Also, do not forget to save the date for our annual Christmas Eve candlelight service – a highlight of the year for many of us. All of these worship experiences provide great opportunities to invite guests to Calvary.

And, one final holiday note - Ryan Perkins will be at Calvary on December 28 to bring a report from our national mission partner, New City Church in Austin, Texas. Ryan, who is a gifted preacher, will preach on that day as well.

So, all in all, it is a great time to be part of the Calvary family during the 2025 holiday season. Merry Christmas to all.

Scott
