It’s December, the season of Advent.
The word advent literally means “arrival” or “appearing.” And of course, it speaks to the momentous occasion when God’s son Jesus arrived in this fallen, broken, and sinful world. A world that was and is under the control of the Evil One. Jesus then lived the perfect life among us and died a sacrificial death for us. What a Christmas gift he was and is!
The traditional themes of Advent are hope, peace, joy, and love. These beautiful Christian virtues are gifts from above to those of us who know, love, a walk with Jesus. These are also virtues that our world is in desperate need of this Christmas season.
So, as we enter into December of 2024, let’s allow God’s Spirit to use us to be his ambassadors of Advent to a world in need. May our hope be inspiring. May our peace be comforting. May our joy be contagious. And my our love be evident. Merry Christmas Calvary family!
