It was my privilege to return to Calvary in July of 2018, to serve as the Senior Pastor after serving as Calvary’s Youth Minister in the early '90s. It truly felt like I was coming back home to a very special faith family.
I graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in May 1985 and attended seminary at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, graduating in 1988 with a Masters of Divinity degree. I later earned doctorate degrees from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and B. H. Carroll Theological Institute.
I met my wife Mona while at Ouachita and we were married in 1985. She is a gifted elementary school teacher and a wonderful friend and ministry partner. Her beautiful heart and love have encouraged me every day since we met. We are blessed to have three grown children who are amazing people in their own right – Josh, Lauren, and Kaitlyn. And now, we are super blessed by their spouses as well.
I get recharged by being outdoors, especially while fly fishing or mountain biking. I love the outdoors because it allows me to connect with my glorious Creator while enjoying his glorious creation. Also, I love to cheer for my favorite football teams, which include the Dallas Cowboys.
My hope for Calvary is that we truly become a church that fulfills its mission of making disciples who make disciples. I believe that Calvary is a special faith family that has a great spiritual legacy that needs to be passed along to others. It’s my privilege, honor, and responsibility to lead us in that direction for the glory of our King and His kingdom.
