Today, we continue our study of David's life by looking at one of his most intimate Psalms: Psalm 51. In this Psalm, David comes to terms with one of his most shameful moments. In doing so, he gives us an example of what true repentance and restoration look like. It is a call to take an unflinching search of ourselves to see what sin we are hiding. We also see that the true center of transformation comes in the presence of God.
Today we look at one of the darkest periods of David's life: Ten years of hiding in the wilderness. Saul's anger has reached an all-time high, and he has vowed to end David's life. David flees his home and will spend the next decade hiding in caves from Saul and his army. We look at this dark time in David's life and see what wisdom it offers as we face our own trials and hardships.
Today we look at what it means to have a true friend. The connection that David and Jonathan have is a beautiful relationship built on love, respect, and care for one another. Their friendship serves as a model for how people can support and care for one another in the good and bad.
