July will be an exciting month for missions at Calvary. In fact, we have three important mission projects taking place this month. These include our youth trip to Baltimore, our Together for Hope trip to the Helena area, and our local Vacation Bible School.
Here is a brief overview from Ryan about the youth mission trip:
“Our trip is July 5-11. We are working with Church of the Harbor, a three-year-old church plant just outside of Baltimore. We will primarily be talking to people, sharing the gospel, and doing some maintenance work around their church campus. This church is serious about evangelism, and is growing quickly. We are excited to be able to join in with what God is already doing!”
Next is a summary of our Together for Hope mission trip in the Helena area:
The trip is July 14_18. Several Calvary members will be teaching bible stories to children while the rest of the team will be working on an important construction project. The Together for Hope ministry is focusing on youth development, literacy, and community development in the Arkansas Delta. The goal of the ministry is to reduce poverty and inspire hope through the gospel.
Finally, here is a brief word from Julie about this year’s Vacation Bible School:
“VBS will begin on Sunday July 21 and conclude on Thursday July 25. The theme of this year’s VBS is ‘In the Wild’ where we will have amazing encounters with Jesus. Each day, the kids will encounter Jesus at different points in His life. On day four, we will encounter Him at the empty tomb where we will focus on the gospel presentation. More children accept Jesus as their Savior and Lord during VBS than any other time of the year. Join us in praying for our leaders, teachers, helpers, students, and children as together we lead and experience VBS.”
This year’s VBS bible verse is John 20:31, “But these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” This is the gospel and this is why we do missions. Please join me in praying for Spirit led success for each of these mission projects.
