First, I want to thank the Calvary choir and musicians for a wonderful Christmas cantata this past Sunday. We were richly blessed by your ministry to us as you sang, played, and spoke the Christmas message of hope, peace, joy, and love. Thank you.
In addition to Sunday’s cantata, the choir has been extremely active this Christmas season in so many ways. Here are a few:
- Christmas Caroling at Holiday in the Heights
- Hosting the Master’Singers
- Hanging of the Green
- Hosting the Messiah
- The Children’s Christmas Program
- The Hand Bell Choir Performing at Children’s Hospital
Most of these programs took place in Calvary’s beautiful Worship Center which provided an extraordinary setting for such beautiful music to connect to our hearts.
So next, I would like to thank our leadership for the “All In” campaign to help us reduce and eventually pay off the debt on this beautiful facility that we greatly enjoy. I especially want to thank Lance Hines and G.G. Millard for leading our campaign along with the committee that assisted them. Your leadership, testimonies, and faithfulness to Calvary and the Lord are inspirational. In response, the Calvary Church family has given over $977,000 in pledges! Thank you for your faithfulness to invest your financial resources in the kingdom of God through Calvary.
As we move towards Christmas, we have several more special opportunities to give. We are asking Calvary to bring non-perishable food items to the church foyer to support the food ministry sponsored by Healing Waters, one of our local mission partners. Also, we will collect a benevolence offering at the door after our Christmas Eve service. Additionally, we will continue Calvary’s strong tradition of supporting the Lottie Moon Christmas offering which goes directly to Southern Baptist International Missionaries. Offering envelopes are in the pews.
Thankful for Your Generosity – Scott
