Knowing God...Sharing His Love

Joining our Church

Membership at Calvary Baptist Church

At Calvary, we want you to feel welcome and a part of our family, whether you've been a member for years or you just walked in for the first time.

Finding a church family is a challenging task, and we want each person who joins our church to feel led by the Holy Spirit to be a committed part of our mission.

There are several ways to join Calvary...

By Baptism...Also called Believer's Baptism, this process allows you to make public your conversion exprience. It allows our church family to share in a time of celebration as you follow in a physical demonstration of a spiritual act. You can be baptized soon after you have become a Christian, or even after a long period of time has passed, if you were not immediately baptized.

By Transfer of Membership...Perhaps you are a member at another church and are looking for a new church home. Or maybe you have been a member of another church with beliefs similar to our own, and you would like to move your membership to Calvary. All you have to do is tell us your wish. We'll handle all the paperwork, and your previous church will send us a letter that will "move" your membership to our congregation.

Through Statement of Previous Membership...Sometimes, physical letters of membership are not obtainable. Occasionally churches close, and records of membership are lost. If you were a member of another church of similar belief and choose to join our church, we take your word for it! And we make you a member of our church at that point. It's that simple.

Through Watchcare...Some of our members are not fully ready to become an active member of our church, but they keep an active pattern of attendence in our Bible Study and Worship times. Typically used by individuals who are new to Baptist churches and Baptist beliefs, watchcare members are given all the time they need to decide God's will for their lives, and are free to join as an active member at any time in the future.
